believe discovered the problem that causes food inflation, apparently due to americans still wanting to eat well when 42 m are on food stamp program. given the case, the problem of food inflation should ameliorate as and when dollar ceases to be global reserve currency. just in in-tray

G, you ate MY lobster!!!! since we are on the subject of competition for food, another outrage is geoduck, or marugai. I remember being about to get them, live, for a couple of bucks a pound. Now they have all but vanished. During my recent visit to Seattle, I did not see a single one for sale at the various fish mongers at Pike Place Market, where I used to see mountains of them stacked up. Good sushi bars here charges over $10 for a couple of small bites, or I can go to the local Japanese market and buy some cleaned pieces for $99 a pound. I think I am soon going to be staring at the menu for double cheeseburgers with large fries while you fat cats in HK eat all the delicacies. On Sat, Oct 22, 2011 at 9:56 AM, G wrote:
My mistake re california lobsters. As I know that they have tried to introduce atlantic lobsters off of british columbia, to much failure
Funny just as I hit send, my business partner - corrected me and said he had caught many spiny lobsters off of california.
Anyways since I just ate a big spiny lobster tonight in hong kong. I think I maybe part of the problem not the solution
Best regards
G

G, I can assure you that the spiny lobsters are off the coast in California. I know some of the local fishermen.
Baja lobsters are long gone, after years of unregulated fishing. Places like Puerto Nuevo serves lobsters smaller than a medium shrimp, all caught much further south of the border. puertonuevolobster.com
Just like wild abalone, I think lobsters would be off the restaurant menus in my life time.

THIS IS A TOTAL OUTRAGE
The California lobster season is upon us. Aside from spotted prawns, lobsters are one of the most delicious foods still harvested off the coast of California.
Less than a few years ago, you can get a just legal (about 1.3 lbs) lobster for less than $20. The price this season has doubled to $40. catalinaop.com
The reason: THOSE DAMN CHINESE ARE BUYING THEM ALL UP AND WILLING TO PAY TOP PRICES.
What the hell is the world coming to? I don't care if China steals the jobs but leave MY lobsters alone. |
