yes I m aware of the trust preferred issues and though there may come a time where that will be profitable I do not think B of A is in the mode of bringing new preferred paper to replace them. Frankly they are paying through the nose to roll the paper that they have. Just bad press.

You asked a specific question, which I answered directly , without regards to the callable aspect. The average over the year of premium bac.x over cfc.B is less then one. Its currently over 2. IOW If I had X, I'd sell it to buy B. In fact if I had CFC.a (and did) I would sell that to buy B as well. BAC has an assortment of more than 20 PFD's of different names. The liquidity, or lack of, creates fasinating discrepancies from time to time. When horrible news hits B of A there are all sorts of dividend capturing strateigies that are profitable.
