OK, so the Velodyne SP-1200 does not output to the satellite speakers? You do need a separate amp to power the L and R channels. That's where I was getting confused. I think the cheaper, lower powered, 6" Velodyne sub had speaker level outputs and that's where I expected the rest to be as well. Thanks Allen.

Now that I know I've got to drop some cash on a receiver/amp, I have a direction to move in. Any caveats about the available stereo receivers?
