Earlier this month, Sergio H issued a challenge on the ‘Value Investing’ board regarding 10 stocks which he regarded as “undervalued, beaten up stocks”.

His challenge, at the time, was for anyone to choose which of the 10 stocks would advance the furthest, price wise, at the end of a 90 day period, commencing on the 8th. October 2011.
Unfortunately he was not allowed to continue with his challenge, due to 'board constraints', and all references to his challenge appear to have been removed.

Naturally I could not participate but I decided to put the 10 stocks into a portfolio at Finviz and monitor their progress.
Below is how things stand as of yesterday, 25th. October 2011.
Considering the recent events in the market place, I’d say that the portfolio has done rather well, with none of the stocks showing a price decline.
It seems that they could very well have been "beaten down" at the time, but I guess it's early days yet.

I wonder how many would have thought that CAT would currently be "top dog" ??!! ......

I'll continue to report on their progress.
