Hi BP,

I'm not the best person to ask about options as I've only been experimenting with them for a very short peroid of time. I should go to the library and read up on some of the finer points before I do much more than what I'm doing now. So far I've been trading them the way I would stocks which probably isn't very bright since I wouldn't touch a penny stock that has a quarter point spread and only trades a hand full of shares a day. It does give a lot of leverage off of a small investment though.

I've pretty much given up on trying to treat NOVL as an investment in hopes of some kind of turn around. Like Joe said I don't want to wait for three years. Novells focus on some distant, magical, imaginary future where everything will be OK is just making me tired. If Schmidt had spent $55 million on marketing his first quarter on the job instead of spending it to fire 1 out of every 5 employees, Novell would have enough business to keep them all busy by now. I have a strong hunch that Schmidts attempt to end inventory problems by stopping end of quarter discounting has done nothing more than make Novell resellers so mad that they won't buy anything. VAR Reseller has been nothing buy down on Novell since he made the announcement 3 months ago.

I loaded up on APM today. The analysists have beat hell out of it, but at $17 per share it had more EPS this year than Microsoft. At least it has a PE, which is more than I can say for NOVL.

For the sake of all my long friends on the thread, I hope I'm wrong about earnings next Tuesday. Good luck.

Regards,

Don
