Allen. How true. Considering that what we use to play back an audio CD is by definition 1X, and the Jaz can easily write at 6X , the "music engineer's" statement was so patently false, it was unprofessional. It sounded like it was born of resentment.

The only sense I can make out of it is the scenario where one is trying to read 3 files, and write 1 file on the same disk at the same time. If that's the case, you may actually need the little extra speed of the Sy. But would a studio really not be able to afford one drive for each input and output?

So it seems to me the real bottleneck would be in the CPU which is doing the really hard work of mixing.
