That is interesting. It is my understanding that if enough fresh water melts it could stop the gulf stream that brings warm water to Europe.

I noticed the east is having an early snow this year. I have found that usually when the east is cold we are warm (jet stream); and what is going on is that so much ice has melted that the arctic ocean is absorbing huge amounts of heat in the summer. In the winter this releases huge amounts of heat and forms a high pressure area over the arctic that pushes the jet stream and cold air down onto the east coast.

The east coast has been experiencing very cold winters and may continue to have them. Record snow predicted today.
