Oh dear, oh dear!!! Saturday am, a fresh cup of coffee, the house quiet, a sigh of contentment as I enter the Coffee Shop to read Friday night's posts----and in walks an evangelical missionary, probably terrified of us wicked unbelievers but brandishing his Bible and cross as his weapons of truth against the heathen.. Why are people assuming all of us here have had no experience with religion or "God's love", and that we haven't heard the same proselytizing arguments for years--gee, maybe some of us are even believers who are comfortable enough with our belief systems to co-exist happily with the humanists, the atheists, the hedonists...all the wonderful assortment that has wandered into Christine's prism-hung, sunfilled thread.
This has nothing to do with free speech and open-mindedness; David's post was about conversion, it was condescending, and I resent it!
I used to let the Mormons and the Jehovah's Witnesses in when they cam e calling because I hated to be rude. Unfortunately, rudeness is sometimes what it takes--although, Paul, you were pretty rough!!
Darn! I'm going to go make some more coffee and settle down!
