marc,

"the US is just a a non-growth piece of that 21% Americas so INTC tells us little about the US economy."

Is it wrong to note that INTEL's geographic sales stats are a function of where products (ie. iPhone, iPAD, and other gadgets) are being manufactured, NOT WHERE SUCH PRODUCTS ARE SOLD?

Thus if Asia, x JAPAN buys from Intel to manufacture the 57%, but Sells the bulk of that 57% in finished product gadgets back into America for resale (I'm not, saying that's really what happens), then I don't see how INTEL's geographic sales stats could be used to support the idea that American sales are not growing. Then again, my cognitive abilities this week my be diminished by the severe head cold and cough I came down with this past Tuesday.

Best wishes,

P
