hello 2mar$, today's report:

(i) i bought enough of 0968.hk finance.yahoo.com @ hkd 5.13/shr

i do not know what other issues there might be, but believe the anti-trust authorities on beijing shall okay the deal if only on anti-trust issues.

(ii) i added zurich platinum at usd 1,608 per oz

i think the usd 100 gap between industrially strategic platinum and monetarily precious gold shall eventually close, sooner rather than later, unless the sky falls down due to either china or europe, and i doubt the sky would, at least not yet

i also think the japan yen intervention, causing the usd to 'go up', is a spurious relationship, as the japanese just fully signaled their pain level w/ the yen, as did the swiss w/ the chf

(iii) given that china is expected to tee-up some aid to europe's trembling hands, another tranche of rmb printing ought to be expected as a bail-out of the small medium enterprises even as the real estate developers shall be left dangling in the twisting wind to hang, as any 1% would be these days

(iv) all eyes on team usa, with its debt limits and electioneering, and shouting at the street level

(v) in the event that europe takes up rmb-denominated financing, all bets are off on everything, because we would officially be close to bell-ring for TeoTwawKi (the end of the .... as we knew it) dawn with much TwoAPuc (the worst of all possible unintended consequences)

cheers, tj
