Yes, I know some very wealthy people also getting social security checks and staying 40 days in the hospital. They don't need those checks. So if we're going to fix SS, I'd start by means testing it. I'm with you all in the belief that this country has a moral obligation to help the least among us. But don't tell me that the top 1%, hell even the top 5% need social security and government paid health care. Let them pay for their own. I'll include myself in that category, since I've already planned my life and savings for just that scenario. The Dems need to let us fix SS and Medicare and the GOP needs to let us raise taxes. Everyone needs to get real and stop living in fantasy land.
