Sheesh. Now you see why I hate the GOP. They've never seen a tax cut they didn't like. They also are living in fantasy land. They think government doesn't cost money. Or they think government is innately evil and must be completely dismantled. Those are both extreme positions. What we need is a good middle of the ground position. There are real practical solutions in the middle ground.

Examples:
* Unregulated free markets are really bad for Democracies. In general, free markets are a good think for increasing the overall wealth of a country, but regulated free markets are better in driving a more equitable distribution of that wealth.
* Socialism writ large is a bad thing as it can impoverish a nation if it is used as a construct for managing the nation's entire economy. However, some socialism in moderation, especially when focused as a means of ensuring a safety net for the poorer among us, can be a good and moral thing.

The above are both middle ground positions and reflect my own thoughts.
