[TI's C6X]

Steve --

I know for a fact the C6X --- even apart from the ADSL --- lacks a key ingredient without Amati's technology. TI would stand to lose more by having another chip company own Amati than any of them stand to lose by TI owning them.

The only way to know how tentative TI's licenses are is to have access to the legal documents. (Fat chance.) If they have to be re-negotiated periodically, they probably would fight to maintain control.

Just another angle for thought.
