Warfie gave the most in depth answer. I have yet to read it all as I just returned from NC. Drove 716 miles in 12 hours. Traffic was terrible. I was doing 75 and cars were passing me at 80 PLUS on Rts. 95 South AND Rt. 75 S. One takes one's life in one's hands on those Interstates...... No police. One huge accident tied me up for thirty minutes. It's a terrible trip. I hate motels so just try to make it in one day. AND frozen food in a cooler also makes me feel that it is important to do. Then get sick for the next four days. Like now. Thanks for Heritage Foundation info.
