Try the Denver to Grand Junction route.

It's great to have a plug-in to make this available in a browser, but I've been flying routes in Google Earth for a couple of years now. It actually works a lot better than the plug-in, because you can full screen the window and the animations are very smooth yielding a positively mesmerizing 3D effect.

It's a little tricky to get started. After you get into GE, first click on "Directions" to set a route. Denver to Grand Junction is a good one to start with. Then click on the spy glass icon. It will give you the standard turn by turn directions.

Down at the bottom of that segment, however, you'll see an icon that looks like a pawn shop symbol, 3 blue balls arranged on a triangle. If you hover over it, it says "Play Tour" so click it.

The camera action is what makes this feature so amazing. You can change 3 settings under the Touring tab in GE Preferences, "When creating a tour from a line:" Camera Tilt Angle, Camera Range, and Speed. After making changes, you'll have to click the pawn shop icon again before they'll take effect.

Get your settings just right and you've got quite a show!

Don't forget to maximize the window, hide the sidebar and your other bars for the best effect.
