What are your thoughts and where do you stand? Justa I am not smart enough to predict the direction of the stock market. I just own individual companies and I analyze their prospects going forward. Two of my biggest holdings are IBM and Chevron Texaco. I have owned them both since the early 1990's. They both reported great earnings last quarter. Another two major holdings are Phillip Morris and Altria. I have bought and sold through out the years. I have covered calls written on PM and CVX. On the economy, I don't expect much change either way in the next 12 months. Maybe unemployment in the 8.7 to 9.3 range and GDP growth at 1.5 to 2.5. I guess that puts me in Brinker's camp.
