11/4/11 Contest Update
It took me a while, but I finally accepted as fact that the stock market’s machinations were caused by a butterfly flapping its wings in the Brazilian rain forest. But now they tell me the butterfly has metamorphosized into a Greek politician flapping his mouth in Athens. Well, I guess Chaos Theory is just a theory.
At Friday’s close, the NBI was up 2.77% YTD (vs. up 7.45% YTD a week ago) and the Contest median was down -.85% YTD (vs. up 1.07% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 1.25% YTD (vs. up 3.18% YTD a week ago).
JIBAC’s portfolio (up 56.14% YTD) remains comfortably in the lead, with ROCKY’s portfolio (up 39.53% YTD) taking second place and MCBIO’s’s portfolio (up 37.69% YTD) moving into third place.
At Friday's close, 18 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the black, while 16 were beating the NBI.
