Why shouldn't gold be just another commodity? What's the use of using gold as a means to defend one's currency? Gold has more important industrial uses than to sit in a warehouse, so the price won't completely collapse. My Dad has positions in Global Strategy Gold Plus. It has taken a beating. Too bad we didn't get out of it last year. Hindsight is 20/20 though. And we have made gains in other areas.

I saw this coming though, what with South African, Eastern European, and Russian gold on its way to the market.
