Nancy Pelosi accused of undergoing plastic surgery and injections after TV appearance

She is without doubt one of the most senior members of House of Representatives.
But now Nancy Pelosi has been forced to face down claims she took steps to make herself look more junior.
The House Minority Leader, 71, has been accused of undergoing a face lift to shave a few years off her appearance.

It has also been suggested the grandmother of eight had Botox fillers injected into the side of her mouth to keep her looking fresh.
In a recent interview with CNBC, Pelosi's face looks noticeably stretched around her mouth area.
The lines around her cheeks appear smooth, taut and flawless, especially for a woman of her age.
Pelosi has recently changed her hairstyle away from her trademark bob to a softer look, but the change in her appearance does not appear to down to this alone.
A report in the Washington Examiner asked: 'Is that all the House-keeping she's been doing?
Celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Ayman Hakki told the Examiner that he thought Pelosi had been to see a specialist.

He said: 'Looking at recent pictures of Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, I believe she had Botox and fillers like Juvederm injected in her marionette lines, the lines from the side of the mouth down to her jowls.
'Furthermore, she definitely underwent a face-lift a few years ago. The reason she looks different now is because she used to look pulled and tight.
'With time the procedure looks more natural and her face is looking the way it is supposed to look'.
If Pelosi had had some work done she would not be the first politician to apparently do so.

Former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger maintained a impressively firm brow whilst in office, and vice president Joe Biden's smooth cheeks have attracted many admiring comments.
Rumours have swirled about Pelosi before, with one surgeon claiming that the 'wind tunnel' look was a mistake and that she was a 'victim of West Coast surgery'.
Pelosi is one of the most senior members of the Democrat party and is currently working with Republicans to find a long term solution to the US debt problems.
Her constituency is in California and before becoming Minority Leader this January, she was the first woman to be Speaker of the House.
She lives with her husband of 48 years and they have five children, along with the eight grandchildren.
Pelosi's press secretary condemned the suggestion that she had been operated on.
Asked by the Examiner he replied: 'You are a disgrace to journalism.'
