"IMO we should have free education for students who pursue degrees in careers that are high demand."

We do it for football players, so, why not? I have a quibble -

By the time the government realizes an occupation is in high demand, it might well not be. In 2006, RRE broker was a high demand occupation, by 2008, not so much..

I think that the government should offer free education for any (of the very few) Americans that wants to major in mathematics or the sciences, and has demonstrated an ability to succeed at those in high school. I really think ALL our education should be FREE, for any American who has demonstrated an ability to succeed in high school, regardless of major.
