Isn't that the case with all entertainment companies? The IMAX deal is for 2 projects. One would think that if they do well, they'll get more business. Reboot is produced in-house and based on pre-sales to guys like YTV and a few others. They did season 3 with no US sponsorship. I guess if YTV and the others keep it, they'll do more. But your right, at some point it's ratings might fall off. Beast Wars still gets very good ratings too. As long as ratings are in, shows will probably be ordered. Hasbro/Kenner sponsors Beast Wars. The trick is probably to show you can produce within the budget adn on time and do something visually exciting and entertaining with good stories so as to capture audience. Since they've proven they can do that, I would imagine they're always talking to these partners about new projects.

The upside, though, is that with all the episodes they have, they can package Reboot and BW and sydicate it around the world. These "residual" incomes are great --no expenses, they drop to the bottom line. That's why you want to have some ownership. While they don't own them 100% (nor did they risk 100% of the production money on them), they have ownership pieces of both.

Also, to the extent you have ratings backing you up, you can get pretty good terms on producing more episodes.
