That seems a strange question to me.

We hippies are usually not poor, but more likely middle class or even rich. You ask why very liberal areas like boulder are so expensive. Liberals are usually well educated and well educated people make more money than others. Conversely the rich are often well educated and so liberal.

What is more, liberal communities run their societies better because they value education and pay for it, so their civilized communities, like Portland Oregon, San Francisco, Seattle are areas where liberals like to live, so they are expensive.

The bible belt is depressed because they often do not value education and are also the most uneducated parts of the country and so poor: Mississippi, Alabama, Texas etc. Mississippi and Texas come in about dead last in high school graduation.

<<Again no one has even attempted to answered the question Koan except maybe Dale. Lots of oddballs here on your side too Koan disappoints me because I expected better than the classless responses you always get from right wingers. Why are very liberal areas like a Boulder so expensive the hippies of the 60's counter culture could never afford to live their today?. These areas were already high priced when Bush became president but were quite affordable going back to the late 1970's as was the entire country. Even in today's depression most are priced out there as prices have not fallen much.. Now most of the country is quite affordable again post bust where the Bush years were reset and that includes our liberal ghettos which we leave for a seperate discussion. Yet go to the bible belt and the heart of 'real america' and home values always were depressed and continue to be depressed unless you are in a university town or the state capital.... And here I thought liberalism was redistribution of wealth while capitalism and wealth creation thrived in conservative america?
