Joe, as you know I worked in the headquarters for a candidate running for Missouri Governor. Below, is some of my observation which I have communicated to some of my friends.

Many on this site and I are on a different wave link regarding Obama. Clinton Bush II, the economy, stock market, legitimate poor and needy, and government interference into religion and our homes . I am more fearful of the TEA Party and ultra conservatives. I have spoken to our County Sheriff, and other State Agency heads who have stated the problem is not whether there is no jobs, but, the jobs are skilled jobs rather than unskilled jobs. Many agency and business leader with whom I have spoken have stated there are plenty of skilled jobs, but no skilled employees to fill them. Many corporations will not hire unemployed workers out of work according to some employers. Without jobs individuals are moving back with their parents if they do not have the skill sets for employment, or become homeless. I know of such individuals, many are being kicked out of their homes or apartments if they can't make their payments or rent.

Regarding GDP I Googled the following charts:
en.wikipedia.org

bea.gov
bea.gov
data360.org
data360.org
zfacts.com
online.wsj.com

It appears to me in looking at the charts that when the supply siders came into existence debt went up until Clinton came into office during which time revenues were increased, the US achieved a budget surplus. Then Bush II came into power with tax reduction, two wars (Iraq, Afgan) with the cost of the wars off budget, followed by Wall Street almost crashing in Sept. 2008. Secretary of Treasurer, Paulson, the Fed Head, Bernake, and the NY Fed. Head, Geither, got Bush II and Congress to save our _ss. Obama was not sworn in as President until approx. Jan. 20, 2009. Then, we had the stimulus packages brought into effect stimulating the market saving many jobs, as reflected by the GDP.

IMO, when the housing market crashed, two wars financed off the budget, preceded by Bush's Tax reduction, the only way the deficit could go was up unless social programs were cut (social security, medicare, medicaid, meals on wheels programs for elderly, etc). The stimulus as shown by the charts did maintain and increase the GDP. However, the debt was also increased. There was no other choice with the exception of cutting expenditures which was then and now promoted by the TEA Party restricted economic growth. At the same time we are having a continued explosion in Technology.

I, having read MAESTRO, by Bob Woodward, page 223, "According to Greenspan, Information technology, defined the current period (90'), something profoundly different had occurred. Computers and the internet were at the root of the extraordinary productivity improvement. . . . All of this dissemination added productivity growth throughout the economy. . .They were truly in a capital equipment investment boom. . . Greenspan complimented Clinton on his efforts to use budget surpluses to reduce the federal debt.

Greenspan, encouraged individuals purchasing houses to go to a balloon loan to get low rates in the 3-4 % range. The banks were encouraged to make 100% loans under the community reinvestment act beginning the housing boom which crashed during the Bush administration in 2008 as reflected in the financial markets.

My question to threaders, show me what stances that OBama has taken where he has not implemented what he said he would do. He was against the Iraq War and its cost, got Bin Laden and a huge number of the terrorist while passing legislation which previous Presidents have not been able to pass. He support many of the programs which I support: (1) keeping the government out of our Churches and homes-our family responsibility, (2) support of those truly poor and needy who are trying to succeed, (3) withdrawal of our troops from outside the US, and (4) supporting education.

Yes, he passed healthcare which is forcing the medical profession to make tremendous positive changes according to my interaction with members of the medical profession (digitalizing medical records, giving the right to the Dept. of Health the right to bargain lower insurance rates, etc.) And, he is trying to produce jobs in the areas of: Healtcare, infrastructure, technology, energy, and education (trades and college). But, the Republicans have one purpose beginning at OBama's election, defeat OBama.

However, my interpretation of the above posted sites may be a misinterpretation by me. I stand to be corrected if inaccurate.
