I appreciate the last three replies to the question posted in #7601. They are all informative. Clearly, the consensus on this thread is that this is a good long-term move by Yocam. However, there seems to be less consensus on the price, but few outright rejections of the price. I suppose all of us will just have to see what happens to the P&L and balance sheets next year.

Like all shareholders, I was hurt big time in the short-term, and the timing was personally bad as well. Nevertheless, I intend to remain fully invested in this stock for the furture. It STILL seems like a great play, just a little further out.

If Del wanted to, he could have made a cash offer,
or he could have bought back BORL shares and had the inventory for
a stock swap w/o re-issue.

I don't know about the ethics issue, but how do we know Yocam didn't allocate some number of treasury shares to this arrangement? Also, how do we know that he isn't planning to use cash to purchase Borland shares? Seems to me this might be an open issue.
