Increase in property values over the past 30-40 years is much more easily explained by the impact of two earner families. Since the late 1960's, two earner couples have become the norm instead of the exception. Lots of that extra income helped push up the cost of houses. Not surprising that this impact is more significant in liberal communities which are more likely to have more educated, higher earning couples, than middle America.
