Al, let me clarify my stance, just so you have fewer excuses to ignore my points. I'm all for a flat(ter) tax. But I'm not a big believer in Cain's 9-9-9 plan. It's mainly there as a campaign slogan, not as a real practical plan. I won't bother trying to clarify my other point, that a sharp progressive tax curve actually contributes to the gap between rich and poor more than it closes it. I'll just say that the solutions you advocate have been tried many times before. OK, so let's rescind the Bush tax cuts. Want to also rescind most of the spending increases under Bush? Didn't think so. Tenchusatsu
