One problem, especially with the New Testament, is that most of our oldest sources are, themselves, translations. One of Paul Erdlich's comments about KJV was that it is a bad translation of a bad translation.

I still need an explanation in The Old Testament where it says that God required somebody to kill all the blind people in the city and that he hated blind people. It wasn't enough to make them blind?
