thanks for the info. is dss the deathstar satellite? the v-chip
is a mandatory piece of equipment for tvs sold in the states starting
jan1st/98 but of course the electronic manufacturers will have to start designing the v-chip to interface with the tv. this is where
tri-vision comes in . they are the ones with that knowledge .prof
collings has the most insight into the potential and actual
development of the v-chip. TVL is the only game in town.
really the ONLY game in town. it's not like IBM is going to intro their own v-chip in 6months. why? because of the exclusive
licensing deal.
the cable labs in colorado has seen the demo of the chip
and has asked to have a permanent sample to show visitors.
i see this as the much "smaller but massive potential"
deal. anyway you won't have tom wait long to find out .the intro
will be very soon(i don't have an exact day). there also will be
very widespread publicity.
lastly ,for now ,most people haven't heard of TVL.my guess
is way less than 1% of si readers know about the v-chip TVL connection. TVL sept11 close 1.10$ vol. 70,500 36 trades
sep12 1.70 1.25 1.25 203,050 117
sep13 1.49 1.30 1.39 156,200 74
tvl smashed its 52week hi of 1.29$ on thurs on no news release.
i feel tvl will break 2$ in the sep16-20week.
could be wrong but....
