Good news at last and attached to a real name. For followers of the thread some of us speculated about this last summer. I remain concerned about the market for one gig switches (despite all the recent hype). Here you have what is arguably the most intensive application and they are able to use a quarter speed switch. Clearly Amoco could afford to go with the highest speed switched fabric, and they are probably running workstations that have better performance than the average Fortune 500 company. I hope that other integrators notice the fact that it was up and running in less than 2 days. Does anyone know what ATM system (and model) was replaced?
