Nope. Forcing the banks through a controlled bankruptcy process would have ring fenced the damage to those who took ridiculous risk with other people's money. Instead, we've insulated the criminals, bailed them out, and socialized their losses, putting all the pain on the 99%. My brother is a CPA and Partner at a national law firm who specializes in dealing with bankers and investment banks, among other things. I've had many conversations with him on this topic.

This is why education is a pillar of Freedom and Democracy. If people don't truly understand the problems and issues, then they make bad decisions. Your decision to support bad policy is an example of that. Your heart is in the right place, but because of your lack of understanding this one issue, you end up supporting people who are enriching the 1% at the expense of the 99%.

It just shows how much power the 1% have when they can use their propaganda machine to get Democrats to support them. But it's not surprising. It's exactly what the oil companies do, when they use their propaganda machine to convince most people that man's pollution isn't causing climate change. The propaganda machines of the top 1% always have the power to drown out the scientists and the subject matter experts on any topic.

It's exactly why our country is going down the toilet and becoming an oligarchy and fascist state.
