It has always been that bad. Go back to Nixon and look at the criminals he had around him. They were every bit as bad as anyone bush had around him. AG Mitchel, was a carbon copy of Cheney. Or Harding, Coolidge and Hoover. One could never engage in hyperbole regarding the venal nature of the Republican party. Which is why I am always flabbergasted whenever I hear anyone say there is no difference between the two parties. The difference has been exactly the same for almost 100 years. The difference between feudal/plutocratic barbarianism and democratic civilization.
