Clearly in the hot market that ADSL will eventually be, all the major players will be jockeying for a seat. It'll probably get pretty rough, and the big boys have the dollar-clout to bully out all but the top few. Without Amati, it becomes more difficult (not that it would have easy WITH them) to compete and make a profit. The BIG deployments may go to the BIG companies attempting to dominate the market with loss-lead pricing. Clearly ADSL will continue to evolve. Not having the engineering expertise in-house to develop and sell the breakthrough tech at the cheapest cost (or at a LOSS for long enough to achieve some dominance) is perceived as a dark cloud over them. I can see this point. Steve
