Anemic volume and the VIX is strangely not as high as you would expect, precious metals falling with the boarder market....any thoughts? Looks like a mass withdrawal of capital from the markets. Possible explanation: The MF Global fiasco most likely has many hedge fund clients spooked. They are disturbed by the fact that MF Global investors completely lost access to their money and don't have a way of getting it back. Perhaps this broad retreat is causing margin calls, resulting in commodities suffering as well.
