I have a fair amount of distrust of government, OTOH I also have a distrust of people who make income inequality a big issue. Not so much if they have a problem with some possible sources of income inequality like handouts to the rich (which doesn't include tax cuts, esp. as the rich still pay more, its just the rich giving less to the government), or protection from competition, but income inequality in directer terms... Well lets just say that unless I'm paying them, or they are somehow taking it from me, what they make really isn't my business. It might be slightly interesting to know. Maybe I'd even comment on how whoever is paying them isn't getting his moneys worth. But it would be wrong for me to campaign for government to take some of their money and give it to me.
