Roger and All:

Could someone knowledgable about how market making works explain what happened to CITRIX? What has to occur technically for a stock to go from 76 to 64, all in a matter of 15-30 minutes? (Huge volume, of course. Can't believe this was a coordinate attack by shorts?) Then, next day, it goes to 78, again on huge volume. I have seen this happen in AND a couple of times, but in those cases, the run-up has come first, then the fall to previous levels.

I think I understand the motivation--somebody is trying to make money. But I would like to understand better the trading mechanics that produces (permits?) this type of result. Eye-opening, to say the least. TIA.
