Steve, I strongly believe that most politicians, regardless of party affiliation, are controlled by the elite few who own and control the vast majority of the world's assets.
Although actual Left v. Right political differences obviously exist in the real world, I don't believe that any of that really matters in the life of a president, a congressman, large corporate owners, or the top bankers. They are very wealthy and live and retire far away from the sight and stench of the hellish havoc they create.
As for the politicians, they simply use their elected positions to acquire more wealth for themselves. Nothing else would explain why they so often vote deficiently against the overwhelming will of voters. They're simply casting their votes in exchange for under-the-table personal gains.
I believe the same is true of the SCOTUS and federal/state/local judges, by the way.
Rampant corruption and dishonesty are simply the modus operandi of all three branches of the U.S. government, as well as state and local governments.
Imagine how easy it would for an elite magnate to install and control a SCOTUS Justice. The candidate could be pulled aside and told, "We're about to make you a SCOTUS Justice with all of the perks, privileges, and benefits of the position. Rule as we tell you to rule and you will enjoy a wonderful life of prestige and wealth for the remainder of your life, including a very enjoyable and lucrative retirement of leisure someday. Alternatively, if you ever rule against our instructions, you will be ruined and your family will be killed. The choice is yours."
I cannot imagine how these corrupt practices of owning/controlling public officials could ever change, because of the very nature of the problem. Can you? Afterall, big money controls and wins elections.
The same "offer you can't refuse" is probably issued to all potential presidents and congressmen/women as well, at varying degrees and junctures. Nothing else would seem to explain why they vote against overwhelming public opposition most of the time.
Multiculturalism makes it very easy for the elite few to control the government, because there is so much confusion, bickering, disagreement, and non-unity present. It's so easy for politicians to vote any way they want to and get away with it, when so few notice or even represent a clear consensus. |
