Voters vote with their pocketbooks. If that money can remain in their pocket and they do not have to pay anything...duh, they are not voting for our country, they selfishly are voting for themselves. That is understandable, but it is irresponsible not only of the party platform, but also of the voters. Balance the budget and get a debt reduction plan in place that is real. Each politician can easily be replaced...if we would vote responsibly and let them know of our expectations no matter what our leadings may be...
