Hm, are the nice enough homes transacting in ordos? Answer, yes. Will the homes be occupied? Yes. Did the speculators lose money? Yes. Did the developers lose money? Possibly. Is this how you conduct your own RE development business? Build to lose money and sell at a 60% loss to some lucky mine worker? Think the loss of those savings (on the part of the sellers) isn't going to have a major impact on Chinese consumer confidence? As for the articles on Black Friday, absolutely disgusting.. That's why I avoided the crowds at all costs.. I think it was overly hyped.. I went into the local mall during the early evening yesterday and hardly anyone was there. Makes me wonder if the US consumer shot their wad, but we'll see.. Either way, get ready for a stronger US Dollar, and deflating commodity prices for awhile.. At least until something gets stabilized in Europe. We're going to be in the midst of a general liquidation as the global (European) banks deleverage to support their balance sheets. Hawk
