It is damned. 50% of this country is already against Free Markets. The other 50% are for Kleptocracy. As soon as you both finish destroying our Free Markets, we can go about living in poverty and lack of Freedom like Russia and China. What went wrong was the lack of application of the laws on the books and the revocation of good laws like Glass Steagal. So the R's want to repeal every regulation and law holding corporations accountable and the D's want to make sure that none of the laws on the books today are executed. Congratulations. Both parties are willfully destroying what made this country great and that is a properly regulated free market economy.
