All,
I am really surprised by the unfriendly welcome this 'one-switch' has received by this thread. Certainly, the sale of a single switch doesn't warrant a press release. This is not 'one-switch' and Ken and Cal aren't stupid. What we have with this press release is a clear, highly-visible validation of GigWorks in the LAN. AMOCO is a big company whose competitiveness resides in its ability to move large quantities of data around its network reliably. Ancor's fibre channel solution was selected OVER ATM, by a respected, technically sophisticated customer. As importantly, the changeover happened in a day- impossible to do with ATM.

I believe this is big news. IMO, it won't take long before analysts start reading the trade journals and recognize the potential that the technologists on this thread have anticipated for quite a while. More importantly, it won't take long before companies start looking to fibre channel for an integrated networking and storage solution.

The anticipation surrounding this company combined with the painful turns this stock has taken has created a bunch of skeptics here. That's good- investors ought to be skeptical. But we should not loose sight of the sea of change which is underway. FC is ramping up NOW, ANCR will have its share.

My $.02, FWIW.
Earl
