A Saskatoon gold mining company is hoping to expand their operations despite spending more money than what is being extracted.

Claude Resources
, who have been developing in Saskatchewan for over 20 years, are currently active on the exploration front, and are focusing on growing their Seabee mine located about 120 kilometres northwest of La Ronge.

The company is currently investing about $90 million a year but only extracting about $75 million worth of gold.

Brian Skanderbeg, exploration vice president with the company, hopes to see 75,000 ounces of gold come out of the mine soon.

“We are probably on stage of about 2012 or 2013 before we see significant earnings coming out of Seabee,” said Skanderbeg.

Through 2011 Claude Resources will complete almost 100,000 metres of drilling while employing 300 workers.

Skanderbeg says the company hopes to add another 50 workers within the next year.
