Sorry for the intrusion but since you are interested in gaming and casino stocks I thought you might be interested in being introduced to and doing you own due diligence on NONA. I have been in the stock for the past 1 1/2 years only to see it drop while the company got its act back together. The following release from earlier today points to the stock having a chance to going back to its old highs (over $2.00 and over time exceeding them) from its present level of .21. At the end of the release you will find the PR companies contact name and web site address.
As it stands, the soft opening of the Hammamet Casino is scheduled for this weekend. The grand opening of the casino is shcheduled for Saturday December 6, 1997 with a press conference to be held in Tunisia on Saturday November 29, 1997.
The following excerpt from the November 12, 1997 issue of The Gaming Industry Weekly Report is great news for the future of Nona's casinos in Tunisia. The casinos mentioned it the following article are located in the Sousse region of Tunisia which, if you had to compare Tunisia gaming regions with those in the U.S., you would compare Sousse with Biloxi, Mississippi. Nona's casinos are located in Hammamet and Cap Gammarth which are like Las Vegas and Atlantic City in the U.S. So far, that other casino appears to be doing better than even the company expected. This really bodes well for Nona and their upcoming opening.
Casino Resource Corp. (CSNR) announced the preliminary results for their Tunisian Casino Caraibe for the first 16 days of operations. Win per customer came out at $38 which is higher than most Missouri Casinos and total revenues came to $198,106. CRC management cautioned that nobody should extrapolate these results as expectations of the full year because the Tourism Association in Tunisia, which directs where tourists in the area go, have not begun their marketing yet. CRC told a very bullish story on their conferecence call on Thursday. You can hear it on our Audio/Video Page which you can access through the Gaming Stock Investor Forum at gamingven.com. Possible future plans for CRC include a 2nd casino in Tunisia on a riverboat style casino and a possible acquisition.

As we know, the peak season starts at the end of May and goes into October in Tunisia. CSNR's revenue as well as the Hammamet's casino numbers and Gap Gammarth's casino numbers (when it opens in a few months) will probably dwarf the off peak revenue numbers.
The following is from Nona's home page which I am sure many of you have read but I thought it would be informative to new thread readers.
  GAMING VENTURES
Nona's long-term goal of opening themed casino and hotel resorts around the world targets the international gaming industry which is estimated to generate $500 billion in annual gaming wagers outside the U.S.
With an exclusive license in each tourist zone, Nona's two casinos represent extremely attractive opportunities because they have no competition and are located on the popular Mediterranean coast of Tunisia, one of the top European destination resorts.
Under Tunisian law, casino gaming is closely monitored by on-site government representatives and strict published operating procedures. Companies must go through a similar process to obtain a license in Tunisia as in many American states with legalized gaming statutes.
  Why Tunisia?
Centrally located just one to two and a half hours by jet from all major cities in Europe and the Middle East, Tunisia with its beautiful beaches and historical treasures is visited by millions of tourists a year.
This creates an attractive investment opportunity for foreign investors, especially American firms which benefit from the 1993 Tunisian-U.S. Bilateral Investment Treaty that guarantees the safety of investments and profit repatriation. The Tunisian government also offers incentives to investors who provide accommodations, recreation, and tourist attractions.
  Tunisian Tourism Industry
Nona is particularly encouraged by the rapidly expanding Tunisian tourism industry. In 1995, this sector generated over $1 billion in revenues and is expected to continue growing significantly with the commitment of Tunisia's national tourism office to further development of the country's tourism infrastructure.
Hotel construction in Tunisia has been booming since the 1980s, during which time the country's overall hotel capacity doubled to 155,000 beds. Government plans call for an increase in the country's total hotel capacity to 200,000 beds by the year 2000. Nona's casinos will attract the increasing number of tourists who are expected during the coming years.
  Tunisian Economy
With a steady economy, stable political environment, and friendly relations between the U.S. and Tunisian governments, Tunisia represents a logical location for Nona's international gaming ventures.
World Bank officials have praised the Tunisian government for its efforts to develop economic and political stability. The positive effects are clear: exports are rising sharply while imports remain steady, GNP and social indicators are rising, per capita income is increasing, and the total debt burden has been reduced. |
