Another option is that market does both and goes nowhere.

Anyway, I am not betting my money that Europe "muddles" through this mess for a ride to SPX 1400s. I might as well work hard and make the equivalent return by saving it or make my return by swing trading the market.

With respect to the European crisis, it is the human condition that no group does anything of any importance until the sh*t hits the fan and splatters everyone. The uniform move by the world's bankers in serving up a crack jolt gives a countries a breather and an excuse to do nothing until -- that's right -- the sh*t hits the fan and there is no other choice. All they did was to rearrange their deck chairs to get better seats for a spell as the Titanic begins to roll over.

Bob's comment on the "super committee" is dead on. Why they were ever called that and why they continued to be called that by the media is beyond me.
