i quit cold turkey after 40 years of a real addition to nicotine....cold turkey is the best way as it requires admitting that you are an addict and that you are finished with nicotine in any form including patches, gums, and electronic cigarettes..

Accept the fact that you will be uncomfortable or miserable for some months and then it is over..over and done with..like recovering from a broken leg or something.

It's not that you want to smoke,it is that you do NOT want to go thru the nicotine withdrawal process...but you have to go thru the process to achieve an addiction-free life..Accept it and embrace it.It is the process of you recovering- of you getting better.

By still using nicotine you are still an addict and to quit all you have to do is "nothing"..you can do nothing for a few weeks or a couple of months, can't you ?

You wouldn't stop using heroin by simply changing the delivery system ?
