What IS the present short interest anyhoo? I haven't been paying attention.

I have a few problems with your scenario.
Short Squeezes are a rare beast. In reality they hardly ever happen. When they do, you hear alot about them simply because they ARE so rare. A squeeze will only happen if ASND has the mother of all aces up it's sleeve and I don't believe they do.

The reason I ask about short interest is that at this price I would imagine alot of shorts would have already covered when it got down near the multiyear lows at 20-22.

Also I wouldn't think there would be alot of short plays in the first place seeing how ASND is a definite candidate for a takeover. The lower the share price the more enticing it gets to LU or Nortel and the like. No-one wants to get caught with their "shorts down" in the middle of a takeover

should have got out 10 points ago myself
Exactly. This is a perect example of why ASND will have a rough time making headway in the coming months. There is a lot of frustration with this stock and as soon as people get to or CLOSE TO a break even point, They'll bail. That's one of the dynamics of how bases get built.
ASND is a mess from a TA POV and it will take a long time to repair the damage. It VERY MUCH needs to build a base.
This will take a long time as it has been absolutely ravaged technically and fundamentally.

15+pts in 3 days? C'mon Spock. That was the good ole days. That was why ASND "USED TO BE" such a good trading stock. Those multipoint moves are over for a LONG time, maybe forever.

Again you are counting on the dreaded short squeeze. This type of behavior is always evident in broken stocks while those that were left holding the bag grasp at straws.
It's reminiscent of Hitler counting on the V-2 and other superweapons projects to bail him out when in fact the war was already over.

I wish you luck, but this is dead money for quite some time.
Live long and prosper.
