Jason, if you read the latest news releases of last week you will find that the strike has been the best thing that could have happened to Goldcorp as just prior to the strike, Goldcorp had discovered a vast find of gold at deeper levels and required time to formulate a plan to fully identiy the proven and probable resourses as well as come up with the best method of extraction/mining it. The strike allowed Goldcorp the ability to curtail the high cost mining it was performing and put its efforts in forwarding the exploration and extrication plans. Now when Goldcorp begins it's mining once again, it can do so with a much lower cost/ton and thus greater profits and shareholder value. The big stirke issue is contracting out and the company is holding firm due to the efficiency advantages and this will only bode well for the future cost/oz. I feel Goldcorp is very attractive at these prices and am long on this stock. Please do your own due diligence and I am sure you will concur. Regards.
