what an odd way of looking at issues? do you believe the n.korean army is answerable to beijing? the usa prisoners are certainly answerable to the usa governments.
as to the bases being welcomed, i suppose it is entirely possible that chinese military bases would be welcomed across the planet one day, except i doubt the chinese would bother.

as to the war deaths, are you proud of the fact that a modern army can invade a stone age society and be defended by a peasant army of a society that just came through two centuries of collapse and that team usa kill a lot of women and children civilians under stone bridges?
or are you not aware of the truth that the modern army was bested, beaten, and fought to a standstill? not once, but twice.
you seem to think of war mainly as killing, and obviously must enjoy such, whereas as war is about strategic objectives, as in either mission accomplished or not.
