Those questions are crafted from libertarian talking points. The real questions we face are not quite so simplistic. You present a false choice. For example with financial regulation, I could live with minimal regulation if and only if the people who make bad bets and lose are allowed to fail. But now we have a situation where they are bailed out instead of being allowed to fail. So we have precisely the worst of both worlds.
