No way the Iranians took over.

I also have a hard time believing a return to home order can be screwed up. Of course, anything can be mucked up, but doubtful in this case. Plus, there must have been a way of gaining manual control once an error was detected, and i'm sure it was. Especially since the drone landed unharmed.

Conclusion: likelihood that Iranians are being hoodwinked is high. A purposeful landing IMO.
