I watched some of that video, 42 minutes is a long time to listen to their gabbing up and back... I don't really have the patience to listen to someone else's personal take on what a candidates says when I can hear the candidate directly myself and make up my own mind...

What I see is people only half listening to what Newt is saying and then they run off and accuse him of being in favor of amnesty... people need to pay close attention to what the candidates are actually saying... that kind of intellectual laziness is how oscumbag got into the White House, everyone interpreted what he said to fit their own personal expectations and agenda while all scumbag did was speak in broad generalities fully expecting everyone to fill in the blanks with what they think they heard ...

So, let's pay very close attention to exactly what Newt said... frankly, I clearly remember Newt saying that he's not talking about amnesty, he said that if a person has been living in this country for more than 25 years, raised a family and has grandkids, has been a taxpaying productive citizen, a church goer, no criminal history, a productive person in their community, and so on, then he thinks there should be a review board comprised of local residents in that community, much like a jury of one's peers, who could review the individual's history and contributions to society and then make a judgement about whether or not that individual should be deported or be able to earn a residency permit, not citizenship, a residency permit which would allow them to remain in the country while they then go to the back of the line and apply for citizenship the proper way in the first place... this is hardly amnesty... this is allowing that kind of individual to remain while going through the full process from the beginning without being deported... he said this country is always open to individuals who are productive and can contribute to society, that these are the kinds of people we want and need, and if someone has proven themselves with a lifelong demonstration of those kinds of attributes, then they ought to be allowed to reviewed by a local board of resident to decide whether or not they should be deported or stay while they first then go through the full immigration process from the very beginning...
